I Wayan Bendi, Ni Wayan Warti and I Made Budi, make much more of a statement about
life in Bali, with subject matter including everything from traditional village
activities to camera-toting tourists and even surfers. Earlier Batuan artist,
Ida Bagus Made Togog and Ida Bagus Made Wija, dealt much more with the darker,
supernatural side of life in Bali with people depicted as extremely vulnerable
to the spirits and powers of nature.
Bali rice field cultivation system listed on UNESCO world heritage Jakarta (Indonesia), May 21 (Xinhua-ANI): A traditional farming and irrigation system used in Bali known as "subak" has been included in the world-heritage by UNESCO, media reported here on Monday. "The subak tradition of Bali has eventually been named as a UNESCO world-heritage activity," Education and Culture Deputy Minister Windu Nuryanti was quoted by the Jakarta Post as saying.
